December 2004: Hong Kong

A short survey of views of Hong Kong.

23 February 2003: Renaissance Faire in Phoenix

A "Renaissance Faire" (though it was more of a Mediæval Faire) in Phoenix, AZ.

30 March 2002: NYC : Tribute in Light

Pictures of the Tribute in Light memorial to 9/11.

27 September 2001: Gullibility virus

It travels via e-mail. It sucks you in. It makes you look like a complete doofus. Defend yourself against the gullibility virus.

20 September 2001: Ernesto de Bear

Some of you may remember Ernie from his famous 2000 Calendar. Now, see the movie!

18 September 2001: New York, as I remember it.

When I lived in New York City as a kid, my family used to go to the Twin Towers of the World Trade Center once a year to eat at Windows of the World (before it became a five-star restaurant, alas) and then go look out over the city from the observation deck.

A photo of skyline seen from the Empire State Building, taken by Steve Schlosser in the summer of 2001, is the way I will always remember the New York of my childhood.

3 August 2001: The Dragon

I'm the trouble starter, [...] instigator.
I'm the fear addicted, danger illustrated.

I'm a firestarter, twisted firestarter,
you're the firestarter, twisted firestarter.

The Prodigy, Firestarter

See my spectacular firebreathing trick!

4 May 2001: Slope Day 2001

See some (surprisingly tame) photos from the last-day-of-classes excess at Cornell they call Slope Day.

2 April 1999: The mysterious case of Audrey, my missing twin

A friend of mine whose husband subscribed to Sports Illustrated noticed an interesting, yet disturbing, coincidence. I was scared. You should be, too.

October 1997: The 1997 Weaner Roast

A disgruntled grad student takes a torch to Wean Hall. If only. See award-winning concrete architecture go up in smoke.
